A look at attempts to save the observance of Easter

A‭ ‬look‭ ‬at‭ ‬attempts‭ ‬to‭ ‬save‭ ‬the‭ ‬the‭ ‬observance‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter.

It‭ ‬is‭ ‬interesting‭ ‬to‭ ‬see‭ ‬what‭ ‬lengths‭ ‬some‭ ‬people‭ ‬will‭ ‬go‭ ‬to‭ ‬defend‭ ‬the‭ ‬observance‭ ‬and‭ ‬celebrations‭ ‬of‭ ‬certain‭ ‬supposed‭ ‬holidays.‭ ‬I‭ ‬recently‭ ‬read‭ ‬through‭ ‬3‭ ‬articles‭ ‬defending‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬They‭ ‬were‭ ‬quite‭ ‬lengthy‭ ‬and‭ ‬a‭ ‬considerable‭ ‬amount‭ ‬of‭ ‬unbiblical‭ ‬and‭ ‬illogical‭ ‬conclusions‭ ‬were‭ ‬made.‭ ‬The‭ ‬authors‭ ‬of‭ ‬these‭ ‬articles‭ ‬take‭ ‬the‭ ‬position‭ ‬that‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬does‭ ‬and‭ ‬has‭ ‬always‭ ‬referred‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection.‭ ‬It‭ ‬is‭ ‬simply‭ ‬amazing‭ ‬how‭ ‬much‭ ‬foolishness‭ ‬is‭ ‬stated‭ ‬in‭ ‬these‭ ‬articles.‭ ‬I‭ ‬will‭ ‬give‭ ‬a‭ ‬few‭ ‬examples‭ ‬and‭ ‬then‭ ‬look‭ ‬at‭ ‬their‭ ‬viewpoint‭ ‬as‭ ‬a‭ ‬whole‭ ‬as‭ ‬I‭ ‬understand‭ ‬it.‭

In‭ ‬an‭ ‬article‭ ‬by‭ ‬Nick‭ ‬Sayers‭ ‬the‭ ‬following‭ ‬is‭ ‬stated:

‭“‬The‭ ‬King‭ ‬James‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬finalised‭ ‬86‭ ‬years‭ ‬of‭ ‬change‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬use‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬and‭ ‬Passover.‭ ‬After‭ ‬seeing‭ ‬what‭ ‬Tyndale‭ ‬had‭ ‬begun‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬refining‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬within‭ ‬almost‭ ‬a‭ ‬century‭ ‬of‭ ‬various‭ ‬translation‭ ‬attempts,‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬translators‭ ‬caused‭ ‬the‭ ‬semantic‭ ‬range‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬translated‭ ‬only‭ ‬once‭ ‬as‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4.‭ ‬This‭ ‬was‭ ‬because‭ ‬in‭ ‬every‭ ‬instance‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬New‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬except‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4,‭ ‬the‭ ‬Greek‭ ‬word‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬represented‭ ‬the‭ ‬pre-resurrection‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬i.e.‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬celebration.‭ ‬In‭ ‬other‭ ‬words‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬had‭ ‬not‭ ‬yet‭ ‬died‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬lamb‭ ‬for‭ ‬the‭ ‬whole‭ ‬world.‭ ‬But‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬post-resurrection‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬where‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬had‭ ‬died‭ ‬and‭ ‬was‭ ‬risen.‭”
The‭ ‬complete‭ ‬article‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬here:‭ ‬http://Easterau.com/‭

This‭ ‬is‭ ‬absolutely‭ ‬false.‭ ‬According‭ ‬to‭ ‬what‭ ‬this‭ ‬says‭ ‬any‭ ‬reference‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ “‬passover‭” ‬after‭ ‬the‭ ‬death,‭ ‬burial,‭ ‬and‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬should‭ ‬be‭ ‬referenced‭ ‬as‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬and‭ ‬not‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬This‭ ‬can‭ ‬clearly‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬false‭ ‬biblically.‭

1Co‭_‬5:7‭ ‬Purge‭ ‬out‭ ‬therefore‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬leaven,‭ ‬that‭ ‬ye‭ ‬may‭ ‬be‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭ ‬lump,‭ ‬as‭ ‬ye‭ ‬are‭ ‬unleavened.‭ ‬For‭ ‬even‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬our‭ ‬passover‭ ‬is‭ ‬sacrificed‭ ‬for‭ ‬us:

1‭ ‬Cor.‭ ‬5:7‭ ‬mentions‭ ‬Christ‭ *‬our‭* ‬passover.‭ ‬He‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬said‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬our‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬This‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬post-resurrection‭ “‬passover.‭” ‬If‭ ‬there‭ ‬really‭ ‬was‭ ‬such‭ ‬thing‭ ‬as‭ ‬a‭ “‬post-resurrection‭ ‬passover‭” ‬then‭ ‬this‭ ‬would‭ ‬have‭ ‬been‭ ‬the‭ ‬time‭ ‬for‭ ‬God‭ ‬to‭ ‬let‭ ‬us‭ ‬know.‭ ‬This‭ ‬passage‭ ‬mentions‭ ‬purging‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬leaven‭ ‬and‭ ‬becoming‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭ ‬lump.‭ ‬This‭ ‬sounds‭ ‬very‭ ‬much‭ ‬like‭ ‬the‭ ‬supposed‭ ‬pre‭ ‬and‭ ‬post-resurrection‭ ‬passovers‭ ‬the‭ ‬author‭ ‬speaks‭ ‬of.‭

The‭ ‬article‭ ‬goes‭ ‬on‭ ‬to‭ ‬teach‭ ‬the‭ ‬following:

‭“‬Because‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬translators‭ ‬rendered‭ ‬this‭ ‬word‭ ‬once,‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4,‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬understanding‭ ‬that‭ ‬it‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬Christian‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬being‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬and‭ ‬not‭ ‬just‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬it‭ ‬stands‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬the‭ ‬most‭ ‬accurate‭ ‬of‭ ‬all‭ ‬the‭ ‬English‭ ‬translations‭ ‬concerning‭ ‬this‭ ‬topic.‭ ‬After‭ ‬1611,‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬predominance‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬and‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬process‭ ‬of‭ ‬time,‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬became‭ ‬known‭ ‬as‭ ‬an‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬word,‭ ‬and‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬became‭ ‬known‭ ‬as‭ ‬a‭ ‬New‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬word.‭ ‬The‭ ‬only‭ ‬other‭ ‬time‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬is‭ ‬mentioned‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬post-resurrection‭ ‬semantic‭ ‬range‭ ‬is‭ ‬in‭ ‬1‭ ‬Corinthians‭ ‬5:7,‭ ‬“For‭ ‬even‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬our‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬is‭ ‬sacrificed‭ ‬for‭ ‬us‭”‬.‭ ‬Tyndale‭’‬s‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬has,‭ “‬For‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬our‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬lamb‭ ‬is‭ ‬offered‭ ‬up‭ ‬for‭ ‬us‭”‬.‭ ‬Obviously,‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬semantic‭ ‬range‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬New‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬this‭ ‬scripture‭ ‬is‭ ‬correctly‭ ‬translated‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬by‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬translators,‭ ‬as‭ ‬it‭ ‬alludes‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬custom‭ ‬of‭ ‬carefully‭ ‬putting‭ ‬away‭ ‬from‭ ‬their‭ ‬houses‭ ‬all‭ ‬leaven‭ ‬upon‭ ‬the‭ ‬approach‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬feast‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬thus‭ ‬making‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬more‭ ‬appropriate‭ ‬than‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬or‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬lamb‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬context.‭ ‬A‭ ‬paraphrase‭ ‬would‭ ‬be‭ “‬For‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬our‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬is‭ ‬sacrificed‭ ‬for‭ ‬us‭”‬.‭ ‬Tyndale‭ ‬was‭ ‬correct‭ ‬to‭ ‬translate‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬lamb‭ ‬and‭ ‬not‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬because‭ ‬the‭ ‬terms‭ ‬were‭ ‬not‭ ‬clearly‭ ‬defined‭ ‬until‭ ‬1611.‭”

Throughout‭ ‬the‭ ‬article‭ ‬the‭ ‬claim‭ ‬that‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬was‭ ‬understood‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬the‭ ‬christians‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬is‭ ‬continually‭ ‬made.‭ ‬This‭ ‬idea,‭ ‬as‭ ‬far‭ ‬as‭ ‬I‭ ‬could‭ ‬tell,‭ ‬was‭ ‬never‭ ‬proven‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬article.‭ ‬The‭ ‬holy‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬gives‭ ‬no‭ ‬indication‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬christians‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christ,‭ ‬besides‭ ‬the‭ ‬fact‭ ‬that‭ ‬many‭ ‬times‭ ‬they‭ ‬met‭ ‬the‭ ‬first‭ ‬day‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬week.‭ ‬No‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬celebrations‭ (‬or‭ ‬any‭ ‬for‭ ‬that‭ ‬matter‭) ‬are‭ ‬found‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬rightfully‭ ‬observed‭ ‬among‭ ‬the‭ ‬christians‭ ‬in‭ ‬God‭’‬s‭ ‬word.‭

You‭ ‬can‭ ‬see‭ ‬he‭ ‬had‭ ‬to‭ ‬take‭ ‬a‭ ‬step‭ ‬back‭ ‬and‭ ‬try‭ ‬and‭ ‬defend‭ ‬his‭ ‬position‭ ‬by‭ ‬saying‭ ‬that‭ ‬1‭ ‬Cor.‭ ‬5:7,‭ ‬when‭ ‬it‭ ‬uses‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ “‬passover,‭” ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬referring‭ ‬to‭ ‬both‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬passover‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬supposed‭ ‬christian‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬No‭ ‬such‭ ‬indication,‭ ‬however,‭ ‬is‭ ‬made‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬passage.‭ ‬Sayers‭ ‬imagined‭ ‬the‭ ‬whole‭ ‬connection‭ ‬up‭ ‬himself.‭

A‭ ‬little‭ ‬double‭ ‬talk‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬seen‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬last‭ ‬portion‭ ‬of‭ ‬this‭ ‬paragraph.‭ ‬First‭ ‬he‭ ‬says‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJB‭ ‬translator‭ ‬had‭ ‬it‭ ‬right‭ ‬by‭ ‬using‭ ‬passover‭ ‬in‭ ‬1‭ ‬Cor.‭ ‬5:7,‭ ‬but‭ ‬then‭ ‬he‭ ‬claims‭ ‬that‭ ‬Tyndale‭ ‬had‭ ‬it‭ ‬right‭ ‬when‭ ‬he‭ ‬translated‭ ‬it‭ ‬as‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬They‭ ‬can‭’‬t‭ ‬both‭ ‬be‭ ‬right.‭ ‬God‭ ‬didn‭’‬t‭ ‬inspired‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ “‬Easter‭” ‬for‭ ‬a‭ ‬few‭ ‬years,‭ ‬and‭ ‬then‭ ‬switch‭ ‬up‭ ‬and‭ ‬inspire‭ “‬passover‭” ‬afterwards‭ ‬in‭ ‬that‭ ‬passage.‭ ‬With‭ ‬this‭ ‬we‭ ‬get‭ ‬a‭ ‬small‭ ‬glimpse‭ ‬about‭ ‬what‭ ‬is‭ ‬running‭ ‬this‭ ‬author.‭ ‬Correcting‭ ‬God‭’‬s‭ ‬word‭ ‬begins‭ ‬with‭ ‬small‭ ‬issue‭ ‬like‭ ‬this‭ ‬one.‭ ‬The‭ ‬fact‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬matter‭ ‬is‭ ‬this,‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJB‭ ‬is‭ ‬correct‭ ‬and‭ ‬every‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬that‭ ‬differs‭ ‬is‭ ‬in‭ ‬error.‭ ‬That‭ ‬is‭ ‬all‭ ‬there‭ ‬is‭ ‬to‭ ‬it.‭

Below‭ ‬is‭ ‬another‭ ‬paragraph‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬article.‭ ‬This‭ ‬is‭ ‬filled‭ ‬with‭ ‬foolishness.‭

“According‭ ‬to‭ ‬scripture,‭ ‬Jehovah‭ ‬initiated‭ ‬both‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬and‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Hebrews‭ ‬didn‭’‬t‭ ‬need‭ ‬the‭ ‬intermediary‭ ‬of‭ ‬pagans.‭ ‬Moses‭ ‬states‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬book‭ ‬of‭ ‬Exodus‭ ‬that‭ ‬God‭ ‬gave‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬Feast‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jews,‭ ‬and‭ ‬that‭ ‬God‭ ‬gave‭ ‬the‭ ‬specific‭ ‬date‭ ‬upon‭ ‬which‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬was‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬celebrated,‭ ‬the‭ ‬14th‭ ‬of‭ ‬Nissan‭ (‬formerly‭ ‬called‭ ‬Abib,‭ ‬before‭ ‬the‭ ‬Exodus‭)‬.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Jews‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬borrow‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬feast‭ ‬or‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬date‭ ‬from‭ ‬anyone,‭ ‬but‭ ‬got‭ ‬both‭ ‬the‭ ‬feast‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬date‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬feast‭ ‬directly‭ ‬from‭ ‬Jehovah‭ ‬God.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬celebration,‭ ‬which‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬Christian‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬occurred‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬very‭ ‬same‭ ‬date‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬celebration,‭ ‬the‭ ‬14th‭ ‬of‭ ‬Nissan.‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬need‭ ‬to‭ ‬copy‭ ‬the‭ ‬Resurrection‭ ‬idea‭ ‬or‭ ‬the‭ ‬Resurrection‭ ‬date‭ ‬from‭ ‬pagans.‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬of‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬because‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬literally‭ ‬rose‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬dead‭ ‬in‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬on‭ ‬that‭ ‬day.‭ ‬Hislop‭ ‬speculates‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬Christian‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬was‭ ‬not‭ ‬based‭ ‬upon‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬but‭ ‬that‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬somehow‭ ‬abandoned‭ ‬the‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬and‭ ‬instead‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬an‭ ‬unknown‭ ‬fertility‭ ‬festival.‭ ‬There‭ ‬is‭ ‬no‭ ‬evidence‭ ‬for‭ ‬this‭ ‬apart‭ ‬from‭ ‬what‭ ‬Hislop‭ ‬theorised.‭ ‬If‭ ‬you‭’‬re‭ ‬a‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬believer,‭ ‬you‭ ‬believe‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭—‬if‭ ‬you‭’‬re‭ ‬superstitious,‭ ‬you‭ ‬believe‭ ‬Hislop.‭”
The‭ ‬complete‭ ‬article‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬here:‭ ‬http://Easterau.com/

The‭ ‬above‭ ‬is‭ ‬completely‭ ‬faulty‭ ‬and‭ ‬utterly‭ ‬unbiblical.‭ ‬The‭ ‬author‭ ‬claims‭ ‬the‭ ‬the‭ ‬scripture‭ ‬institutes‭ ‬the‭ ‬celebrations‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬Let‭’‬s‭ ‬look‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬only‭ ‬time‭ ‬this‭ ‬word‭ ‬is‭ ‬used‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible.‭

Act‭ ‬12:1‭ ‬Now‭ ‬about‭ ‬that‭ ‬time‭ ‬Herod‭ ‬the‭ ‬king‭ ‬stretched‭ ‬forth‭ ‬his‭ ‬hands‭ ‬to‭ ‬vex‭ ‬certain‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬church.
Act‭ ‬12:2‭ ‬And‭ ‬he‭ ‬killed‭ ‬James‭ ‬the‭ ‬brother‭ ‬of‭ ‬John‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬sword.
Act‭ ‬12:3‭ ‬And‭ ‬because‭ ‬he‭ ‬saw‭ ‬it‭ ‬pleased‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jews,‭ ‬he‭ ‬proceeded‭ ‬further‭ ‬to‭ ‬take‭ ‬Peter‭ ‬also.‭ (‬Then‭ ‬were‭ ‬the‭ ‬days‭ ‬of‭ ‬unleavened‭ ‬bread.‭)
Act‭ ‬12:4‭ ‬And‭ ‬when‭ ‬he‭ ‬had‭ ‬apprehended‭ ‬him,‭ ‬he‭ ‬put‭ ‬him‭ ‬in‭ ‬prison,‭ ‬and‭ ‬delivered‭ ‬him‭ ‬to‭ ‬four‭ ‬quaternions‭ ‬of‭ ‬soldiers‭ ‬to‭ ‬keep‭ ‬him‭; ‬intending‭ ‬after‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬to‭ ‬bring‭ ‬him‭ ‬forth‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬people.
Act‭ ‬12:5‭ ‬Peter‭ ‬therefore‭ ‬was‭ ‬kept‭ ‬in‭ ‬prison:‭ ‬but‭ ‬prayer‭ ‬was‭ ‬made‭ ‬without‭ ‬ceasing‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬church‭ ‬unto‭ ‬God‭ ‬for‭ ‬him.

Can‭ ‬anyone‭ ‬show‭ ‬me‭ ‬where‭ ‬Jehovah‭ ‬initiates‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬in‭ ‬that‭ ‬passage‭? ‬It‭ ‬simply‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬there.‭ ‬Sayers‭’ ‬imagination‭ ‬gets‭ ‬the‭ ‬best‭ ‬of‭ ‬him‭ ‬again.‭ ‬What‭ ‬I‭ ‬see‭ ‬is‭ ‬Herod‭ ‬observing‭ ‬that‭ ‬there‭ ‬is‭ ‬an‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬I‭ ‬don‭’‬t‭ ‬see‭ ‬any‭ ‬christians‭ ‬celebrating,‭ ‬and‭ ‬I‭ ‬don‭’‬t‭ ‬see‭ ‬Jehovah‭ ‬initiate‭ ‬the‭ ‬day‭ ‬as‭ ‬an‭ ‬holy‭ ‬day.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬is‭ ‬incredibly‭ ‬clear‭ ‬that‭ ‬no‭ ‬holidays‭ ‬were‭ ‬given‭ ‬to‭ ‬christians.‭ (‬Gal.‭ ‬4:9-10‭)

The‭ ‬next‭ ‬erroneous‭ ‬claim‭ ‬made‭ ‬in‭ ‬this‭ ‬paragraph‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬idea‭ ‬that‭ ‬easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬christians‭ ‬fulfillment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬It‭ ‬is‭ ‬almost‭ ‬as‭ ‬if‭ ‬the‭ ‬author‭ ‬does‭ ‬not‭ ‬understand‭ ‬the‭ ‬scriptures‭ ‬here.‭ ‬Look‭ ‬below‭ ‬for‭ ‬information‭ ‬concerning‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭

Lev‭ ‬23:5‭ ‬In‭ ‬the‭ ‬fourteenth‭ ‬day‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬first‭ ‬month‭ ‬at‭ ‬even‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬LORD‭’‬S‭ ‬passover.
Lev‭ ‬23:6‭ ‬And‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬fifteenth‭ ‬day‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬month‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬feast‭ ‬of‭ ‬unleavened‭ ‬bread‭ ‬unto‭ ‬the‭ ‬LORD:‭ ‬seven‭ ‬days‭ ‬ye‭ ‬must‭ ‬eat‭ ‬unleavened‭ ‬bread.

This‭ ‬was‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬14th‭ ‬day‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬first‭ ‬month.‭ ‬The‭ ‬next‭ ‬day‭ ‬a‭ ‬feast‭ ‬would‭ ‬be‭ ‬observed‭ ‬that‭ ‬would‭ ‬last‭ ‬7‭ ‬days.‭ ‬Those‭ ‬are‭ ‬the‭ ‬days‭ ‬of‭ ‬unleavened‭ ‬bread.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬is‭ ‬very‭ ‬clear‭ ‬when‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬died.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬teaches‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭ ‬died‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬Look‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬verses‭ ‬below.

Joh‭_‬19:14‭ ‬And‭ ‬it‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬preparation‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover,‭ ‬and‭ ‬about‭ ‬the‭ ‬sixth‭ ‬hour:‭ ‬and‭ ‬he‭ ‬saith‭ ‬unto‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jews,‭ ‬Behold‭ ‬your‭ ‬King‭!

Joh‭ ‬19:31‭ ‬The‭ ‬Jews‭ ‬therefore,‭ ‬because‭ ‬it‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬preparation,‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬bodies‭ ‬should‭ ‬not‭ ‬remain‭ ‬upon‭ ‬the‭ ‬cross‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬sabbath‭ ‬day,‭ (‬for‭ ‬that‭ ‬sabbath‭ ‬day‭ ‬was‭ ‬an‭ ‬high‭ ‬day,‭) ‬besought‭ ‬Pilate‭ ‬that‭ ‬their‭ ‬legs‭ ‬might‭ ‬be‭ ‬broken,‭ ‬and‭ ‬that‭ ‬they‭ ‬might‭ ‬be‭ ‬taken‭ ‬away.

The‭ ‬passover‭ ‬began‭ ‬the‭ ‬evening‭ ‬of‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬death.‭ ‬According‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬scripture,‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover‭ ‬is‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬14th‭ ‬day‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬1st‭ ‬month.‭ (‬the‭ ‬name‭ ‬for‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬Abib,‭ ‬but‭ ‬for‭ ‬us‭ ‬it‭ ‬would‭ ‬be‭ ‬between‭ ‬March‭ ‬and‭ ‬April‭) ‬The‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬was‭ ‬exactly‭ ‬3‭ ‬days‭ ‬and‭ ‬3‭ ‬nights‭ ‬later‭ ‬according‭ ‬to‭ ‬Matthew‭ ‬12:40,‭ ‬20:19,‭ ‬27:63‭ ‬and‭ ‬many‭ ‬other‭ ‬passages.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬says‭ ‬he‭ ‬rose‭ ‬again‭ ‬the‭ ‬1st‭ ‬day‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬week.‭ (‬Mat.‭ ‬28:1-2‭) ‬There‭ ‬is‭ ‬no‭ ‬way‭ ‬anyone‭ ‬can‭ ‬dispute‭ ‬these‭ ‬facts.‭ ‬They‭ ‬come‭ ‬straight‭ ‬from‭ ‬God‭’‬s‭ ‬word.

You‭ ‬see‭ ‬the‭ ‬problem‭? ‬Christ‭’‬s‭ ‬death‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬and‭ ‬his‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬was‭ ‬3‭ ‬days‭ ‬after‭ ‬that.‭ ‬Sayers‭ ‬tries‭ ‬to‭ ‬yoke‭ ‬the‭ ‬2‭ ‬together‭ (‬passover‭ ‬and‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬day‭)‬,‭ ‬but‭ ‬even‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬realizes‭ ‬the‭ ‬difference.‭ ‬Let‭’‬s‭ ‬take‭ ‬another‭ ‬look‭ ‬at‭ ‬1‭ ‬Cor.‭ ‬5:7.‭

1Co‭ ‬5:7‭ ‬Purge‭ ‬out‭ ‬therefore‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬leaven,‭ ‬that‭ ‬ye‭ ‬may‭ ‬be‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭ ‬lump,‭ ‬as‭ ‬ye‭ ‬are‭ ‬unleavened.‭ ‬For‭ ‬even‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬our‭ ‬passover‭ ‬is‭ ‬sacrificed‭ ‬for‭ ‬us:

The‭ ‬passover‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬sacrifice.‭ ‬The‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬could‭ ‬not‭ ‬rightly‭ ‬be‭ ‬called‭ ‬a‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬The‭ ‬passover‭ ‬had‭ ‬to‭ ‬do‭ ‬with‭ ‬death.‭ ‬The‭ ‬death‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬fulfilled‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬The‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬was‭ ‬more.‭ ‬And‭ ‬the‭ ‬fact‭ ‬is,‭ ‬it‭ ‬was‭ ‬3‭ ‬days‭ ‬after‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬arise‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover‭ ‬day.‭ ‬That‭ ‬is‭ ‬when‭ ‬he‭ ‬died.‭

Something‭ ‬worthy‭ ‬to‭ ‬note‭ ‬is‭ ‬that‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬did‭ ‬give‭ ‬us‭ ‬an‭ ‬ordinance‭ ‬to‭ ‬commemorate‭ ‬the‭ ‬death‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christ.‭ ‬This‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper.‭

1Co‭ ‬11:23‭ ‬For‭ ‬I‭ ‬have‭ ‬received‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭ ‬that‭ ‬which‭ ‬also‭ ‬I‭ ‬delivered‭ ‬unto‭ ‬you,‭ ‬That‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬night‭ ‬in‭ ‬which‭ ‬he‭ ‬was‭ ‬betrayed‭ ‬took‭ ‬bread:
1Co‭ ‬11:24‭ ‬And‭ ‬when‭ ‬he‭ ‬had‭ ‬given‭ ‬thanks,‭ ‬he‭ ‬brake‭ ‬it,‭ ‬and‭ ‬said,‭ ‬Take,‭ ‬eat:‭ ‬this‭ ‬is‭ ‬my‭ ‬body,‭ ‬which‭ ‬is‭ ‬broken‭ ‬for‭ ‬you:‭ ‬this‭ ‬do‭ ‬in‭ ‬remembrance‭ ‬of‭ ‬me.
1Co‭ ‬11:25‭ ‬After‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬manner‭ ‬also‭ ‬he‭ ‬took‭ ‬the‭ ‬cup,‭ ‬when‭ ‬he‭ ‬had‭ ‬supped,‭ ‬saying,‭ ‬This‭ ‬cup‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬new‭ ‬testament‭ ‬in‭ ‬my‭ ‬blood:‭ ‬this‭ ‬do‭ ‬ye,‭ ‬as‭ ‬oft‭ ‬as‭ ‬ye‭ ‬drink‭ ‬it,‭ ‬in‭ ‬remembrance‭ ‬of‭ ‬me.
1Co‭ ‬11:26‭ ‬For‭ ‬as‭ ‬often‭ ‬as‭ ‬ye‭ ‬eat‭ ‬this‭ ‬bread,‭ ‬and‭ ‬drink‭ ‬this‭ ‬cup,‭ ‬ye‭ ‬do‭ ‬shew‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬death‭ ‬till‭ ‬he‭ ‬come.

This‭ ‬could‭ ‬be‭ ‬said‭ ‬to‭ ‬replace‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬fulfilled‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬Now‭ ‬all‭ ‬we‭ ‬need‭ ‬is‭ ‬something‭ ‬to‭ ‬remember‭ ‬his‭ ‬death‭ ‬by.‭ ‬Not‭ ‬one‭ ‬scripture‭ ‬commands‭ ‬us‭ ‬or‭ ‬even‭ ‬indicates‭ ‬that‭ ‬we‭ ‬should‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬a‭ ‬day‭ ‬for‭ ‬his‭ ‬resurrection.‭ ‬The‭ ‬fact‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬matter‭ ‬is‭ ‬this,‭ ‬to‭ ‬commemorate‭ ‬Jesus‭’ ‬death‭ ‬is‭ ‬to‭ ‬commemorate‭ ‬his‭ ‬burial‭ ‬and‭ ‬resurrection.‭ ‬There‭ ‬is‭ ‬no‭ ‬requirement‭ ‬for‭ ‬an‭ ‬extra‭ ‬celebration.‭

The‭ ‬last‭ ‬part‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬paragraph‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬swipe‭ ‬at‭ ‬Hislop‭ ‬and‭ ‬his‭ ‬book‭ ‬The‭ ‬Two‭ ‬Babylons.‭ ‬The‭ ‬author‭ ‬makes‭ ‬a‭ ‬joke‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬idea‭ ‬of‭ ‬believing‭ ‬christians‭ ‬have‭ ‬left‭ ‬off‭ ‬the‭ ‬true‭ ‬christian‭ ‬worship‭ ‬for‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬worship.‭ ‬He‭ ‬makes‭ ‬a‭ ‬mock‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬thought‭ ‬that‭ ‬christians‭ ‬would‭ ‬forsake‭ ‬truth‭ ‬and‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬fertility‭ ‬festival.‭ ‬The‭ ‬foolishness‭ ‬of‭ ‬such‭ ‬jestings‭ ‬is‭ ‬that‭ ‬they‭ ‬are‭ ‬in‭ ‬fact‭ ‬true.‭ ‬Even‭ ‬from‭ ‬his‭ ‬perspective‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬true.‭ ‬Where‭ ‬else‭ ‬would‭ ‬the‭ ‬fertility‭ ‬symbols‭ ‬such‭ ‬as‭ ‬eggs‭ ‬and‭ ‬hares‭ ‬have‭ ‬come‭ ‬from‭? ‬They‭ ‬certainly‭ ‬are‭ ‬not‭ ‬christian.‭ ‬Even‭ ‬if‭ ‬you‭ ‬do‭ ‬believe‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬was‭ ‬christian,‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬christian‭ ‬anymore.‭

The‭ ‬following‭ ‬is‭ ‬by‭ ‬a‭ ‬pagan:

‭“‬All‭ ‬the‭ ‬fun‭ ‬things‭ ‬about‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬are‭ ‬pagan.‭ ‬Bunnies‭ ‬are‭ ‬a‭ ‬leftover‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬festival‭ ‬of‭ ‬Eostre,‭ ‬a‭ ‬great‭ ‬northern‭ ‬goddess‭ ‬whose‭ ‬symbol‭ ‬was‭ ‬a‭ ‬rabbit‭ ‬or‭ ‬hare.‭ ‬Exchange‭ ‬of‭ ‬eggs‭ ‬is‭ ‬an‭ ‬ancient‭ ‬custom,‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬by‭ ‬many‭ ‬cultures.‭ ‬Hot‭ ‬cross‭ ‬buns‭ ‬are‭ ‬very‭ ‬ancient‭ ‬too.‭ ‬In‭ ‬the‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬we‭ ‬see‭ ‬the‭ ‬Israelites‭ ‬baking‭ ‬sweet‭ ‬buns‭ ‬for‭ ‬an‭ ‬idol,‭ ‬and‭ ‬religious‭ ‬leaders‭ ‬trying‭ ‬to‭ ‬put‭ ‬a‭ ‬stop‭ ‬to‭ ‬it.‭ ‬The‭ ‬early‭ ‬church‭ ‬clergy‭ ‬also‭ ‬tried‭ ‬to‭ ‬put‭ ‬a‭ ‬stop‭ ‬to‭ ‬sacred‭ ‬cakes‭ ‬being‭ ‬baked‭ ‬at‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬In‭ ‬the‭ ‬end,‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬face‭ ‬of‭ ‬defiant‭ ‬cake-baking‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬women,‭ ‬they‭ ‬gave‭ ‬up‭ ‬and‭ ‬blessed‭ ‬the‭ ‬cake‭ ‬instead.‭”

Even‭ ‬the‭ ‬pagans‭ ‬know‭ ‬that‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬comes‭ ‬from‭ ‬paganism.‭ ‬Above‭ ‬the‭ ‬author‭ ‬spoke‭ ‬about‭ ‬the‭ ‬hot‭ ‬cross‭ ‬buns‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬and‭ ‬their‭ ‬connection‭ ‬to‭ ‬idolatry.‭ ‬Look‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬passage‭ ‬below.

Jer‭ ‬7:17‭ ‬Seest‭ ‬thou‭ ‬not‭ ‬what‭ ‬they‭ ‬do‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬cities‭ ‬of‭ ‬Judah‭ ‬and‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬streets‭ ‬of‭ ‬Jerusalem‭?
Jer‭ ‬7:18‭ ‬The‭ ‬children‭ ‬gather‭ ‬wood,‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬fathers‭ ‬kindle‭ ‬the‭ ‬fire,‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬women‭ ‬knead‭ ‬their‭ ‬dough,‭ ‬to‭ ‬make‭ ‬cakes‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬queen‭ ‬of‭ ‬heaven,‭ ‬and‭ ‬to‭ ‬pour‭ ‬out‭ ‬drink‭ ‬offerings‭ ‬unto‭ ‬other‭ ‬gods,‭ ‬that‭ ‬they‭ ‬may‭ ‬provoke‭ ‬me‭ ‬to‭ ‬anger.
Jer‭ ‬7:19‭ ‬Do‭ ‬they‭ ‬provoke‭ ‬me‭ ‬to‭ ‬anger‭? ‬saith‭ ‬the‭ ‬LORD:‭ ‬do‭ ‬they‭ ‬not‭ ‬provoke‭ ‬themselves‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬confusion‭ ‬of‭ ‬their‭ ‬own‭ ‬faces‭?

The‭ ‬fact‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬matter‭ ‬is‭ ‬this,‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬pagan,‭ ‬and‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬institute‭ ‬it.‭ ‬No‭ ‬holidays‭ ‬were‭ ‬given‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬church‭ ‬to‭ ‬observe.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬is‭ ‬and‭ ‬has‭ ‬always‭ ‬been‭ ‬against‭ ‬such‭ ‬activities‭ ‬by‭ ‬christians.‭

Gal‭ ‬4:9‭ ‬But‭ ‬now,‭ ‬after‭ ‬that‭ ‬ye‭ ‬have‭ ‬known‭ ‬God,‭ ‬or‭ ‬rather‭ ‬are‭ ‬known‭ ‬of‭ ‬God,‭ ‬how‭ ‬turn‭ ‬ye‭ ‬again‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬weak‭ ‬and‭ ‬beggarly‭ ‬elements,‭ ‬whereunto‭ ‬ye‭ ‬desire‭ ‬again‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬in‭ ‬bondage‭?
Gal‭ ‬4:10‭ ‬Ye‭ ‬observe‭ ‬days,‭ ‬and‭ ‬months,‭ ‬and‭ ‬times,‭ ‬and‭ ‬years.
Gal‭ ‬4:11‭ ‬I‭ ‬am‭ ‬afraid‭ ‬of‭ ‬you,‭ ‬lest‭ ‬I‭ ‬have‭ ‬bestowed‭ ‬upon‭ ‬you‭ ‬labour‭ ‬in‭ ‬vain.

Here‭ ‬is‭ ‬another‭ ‬quote:

‭“‬Ralph‭ ‬Woodrow‭ ‬who‭ ‬repented‭ ‬of‭ ‬writing‭ ‬many‭ ‬Hislop-style‭ ‬books‭ ‬pointed‭ ‬out‭ ‬that‭ ‬Hislop‭ ‬theorised‭ ‬that‭ ‬Nimrod,‭ ‬Adonis,‭ ‬Apollo,‭ ‬Attes,‭ ‬Ball-zebub,‭ ‬Bacchus,‭ ‬Cupid,‭ ‬Dagon,‭ ‬Hercules,‭ ‬Januis,‭ ‬Linus,‭ ‬Lucifer,‭ ‬Mars,‭ ‬Merodach,‭ ‬Thithra,‭ ‬Molock,‭ ‬Narcissus,‭ ‬Oannes,‭ ‬Oden,‭ ‬Orion,‭ ‬Osiris,‭ ‬Pluto,‭ ‬Saturn,‭ ‬Teitan,‭ ‬Typhon,‭ ‬Vulcan,‭ ‬Wodan,‭ ‬and‭ ‬Zoraster‭ ‬were‭ ‬all‭ ‬one‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬god‭! ‬By‭ ‬mixing‭ ‬myths,‭ ‬Hislop‭ ‬supposed‭ ‬that‭ ‬Semiramis‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬wife‭ ‬of‭ ‬Nimrod‭ ‬and‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬as‭ ‬Aphrodite,‭ ‬Artemis,‭ ‬Astarte,‭ ‬Aurora,‭ ‬Bellona,‭ ‬Ceres,‭ ‬Diana,‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬Irene,‭ ‬Iris,‭ ‬Juno,‭ ‬Mylitta,‭ ‬Proserpine,‭ ‬Rhea,‭ ‬Venus,‭ ‬and‭ ‬Vesta.‭ ‬With‭ ‬these‭ ‬types‭ ‬of‭ ‬generalisations‭ ‬one‭ ‬must‭ ‬seriously‭ ‬consider‭ ‬whether‭ ‬Hislop‭’‬s‭ ‬book‭ ‬has‭ ‬any‭ ‬redeeming‭ ‬qualities‭ ‬at‭ ‬all.‭”

This‭ ‬is‭ ‬fairly‭ ‬silly.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬teaches‭ ‬that‭ ‬all‭ ‬false‭ ‬religions‭ ‬come‭ ‬from‭ ‬one‭ ‬place.‭ ‬They‭ ‬can‭ ‬all‭ ‬be‭ ‬traced‭ ‬back‭ ‬to‭ ‬Babylon.‭ ‬Nimrod‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬founder‭ ‬of‭ ‬this‭ ‬place‭ ‬according‭ ‬to‭ ‬God‭’‬s‭ ‬word.‭ ‬Therefore‭ ‬Hislop‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬too‭ ‬far‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬truth.‭

Rev‭ ‬17:5‭ ‬And‭ ‬upon‭ ‬her‭ ‬forehead‭ ‬was‭ ‬a‭ ‬name‭ ‬written,‭ ‬MYSTERY,‭ ‬BABYLON‭ ‬THE‭ ‬GREAT,‭ ‬THE‭ ‬MOTHER‭ ‬OF‭ ‬HARLOTS‭ ‬AND‭ ‬ABOMINATIONS‭ ‬OF‭ ‬THE‭ ‬EARTH.

‭“‬Many‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬critics‭ ‬and‭ ‬translators‭ ‬today‭ ‬who‭ ‬perhaps‭ ‬know‭ ‬how‭ ‬to‭ ‬use‭ ‬a‭ ‬Strong‭’‬s‭ ‬or‭ ‬Vine‭’‬s,‭ ‬or‭ ‬took‭ ‬a‭ ‬year‭ ‬or‭ ‬two‭ ‬of‭ ‬Greek‭ ‬or‭ ‬Hebrew‭ ‬at‭ ‬a‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬school,‭ ‬have‭ ‬followed‭ ‬in‭ ‬Hislop‭’‬s‭ ‬footsteps.‭ ‬What‭ ‬a‭ ‬shame‭ ‬that‭ ‬believers‭ ‬devote‭ ‬so‭ ‬much‭ ‬time‭ ‬arguing‭ ‬against‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬something‭ ‬that‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬himself‭ ‬instituted,‭ ‬or‭ ‬waste‭ ‬so‭ ‬much‭ ‬time‭ ‬attacking‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬Bible.

It‭ ‬also‭ ‬seems‭ ‬strange‭ ‬if‭ ‬not‭ ‬blasphemous‭ ‬that‭ ‬we‭ ‬as‭ ‬Bible-believing‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬could‭ ‬think‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬King‭ ‬James‭ ‬Version‭ ‬translators‭ ‬would‭ ‬insert‭ ‬the‭ ‬name‭ ‬of‭ ‬a‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬deity‭ ‬in‭ ‬place‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ ‬Pascha.‭ ‬Imagine‭ ‬if‭ ‬we‭ ‬placed‭ ‬Krishna‭ ‬or‭ ‬Allah‭ ‬in‭ ‬its‭ ‬stead.‭”
The‭ ‬complete‭ ‬article‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬here:‭ ‬http://Easterau.com/

This‭ ‬argument‭ ‬makes‭ ‬very‭ ‬little‭ ‬sense.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬never‭ ‬once‭ ‬says‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬himself‭ ‬instituted‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬To‭ ‬keep‭ ‬saying‭ ‬he‭ ‬did‭ ‬does‭ ‬not‭ ‬make‭ ‬it‭ ‬so.‭ ‬To‭ ‬parrot‭ ‬the‭ ‬speculation‭ ‬made‭ ‬in‭ ‬this‭ ‬article‭ ‬as‭ ‬absolute‭ ‬truth‭ ‬is‭ ‬foolish.‭ ‬There‭ ‬are‭ ‬many‭ ‬things‭ ‬that‭ ‬might‭ ‬be‭ ‬able‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬proven‭ ‬through‭ ‬history,‭ ‬but‭ ‬proving‭ ‬the‭ ‬idea‭ ‬that‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬instituted‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬far‭ ‬beyond‭ ‬the‭ ‬capabilities‭ ‬of‭ ‬history.‭ ‬Only‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬used‭ ‬to‭ ‬teach‭ ‬what‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬did‭ ‬or‭ ‬didn‭’‬t‭ ‬do.‭

They‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬insert‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬place‭ ‬of‭ ‬Pascha.‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬even‭ ‬an‭ ‬English‭ ‬word.‭ ‬So‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬could‭ ‬not‭ ‬have‭ ‬replaced‭ ‬it.‭ ‬And‭ ‬the‭ ‬fact‭ ‬is‭ ‬that‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬makes‭ ‬no‭ ‬sense‭ ‬in‭ ‬that‭ ‬passage.‭ ‬The‭ ‬days‭ ‬of‭ ‬unleavened‭ ‬bread‭ ‬were‭ ‬after‭ ‬that‭ ‬passover.‭ (‬And‭ ‬that‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬time‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬occurred‭ ‬according‭ ‬to‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4‭) ‬The‭ ‬word‭ ‬could‭ ‬not‭ ‬have‭ ‬been‭ ‬passover.‭

We‭ ‬as‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬believers‭ ‬believe‭ ‬the‭ ‬King‭ ‬James‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬and‭ ‬do‭ ‬not‭ ‬place‭ ‬our‭ ‬faith‭ ‬in‭ ‬any‭ ‬other.‭

“To‭ ‬think‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬world‭’‬s‭ ‬most‭ ‬famous‭ ‬translation‭ ‬could‭ ‬get‭ ‬it‭ ‬so‭ ‬wrong‭ ‬here‭ ‬is‭ ‬sheer‭ ‬ignorance‭ ‬on‭ ‬our‭ ‬behalf.‭ ‬To‭ ‬believe‭ ‬that‭ ‬Tyndale,‭ ‬Cranmer,‭ ‬Martin‭ ‬Luther,‭ ‬Coverdale,‭ ‬Matthews,‭ ‬the‭ ‬translators‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Great‭ ‬Bible,‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bishops‭’ ‬Bible,‭ ‬the‭ ‬King‭ ‬James‭ ‬Bible,‭ ‬were‭ ‬referring‭ ‬to‭ ‬a‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬god‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬spring‭ ‬called‭ ‬Ishtar‭ ‬is‭ ‬so‭ ‬absurd‭ ‬that‭ ‬it‭ ‬becomes‭ ‬humorous‭ ‬when‭ ‬examined.
If‭ ‬this‭ ‬hearsay‭ ‬is‭ ‬true,‭ ‬then‭ ‬Luther‭ ‬and‭ ‬Tyndale‭ ‬who‭ ‬named‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬the‭ “‬Easter-lamb‭” ‬were‭ ‬being‭ ‬blasphemous,‭ ‬as‭ ‬it‭ ‬would‭ ‬be‭ ‬like‭ ‬calling‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬the‭ “‬fertility‭ ‬goddess‭ ‬lamb‭!” ‬Imagine‭ ‬calling‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬the‭ “‬Allah-lamb‭”‬,‭ ‬or‭ ‬the‭ “‬Buddha-lamb‭”‬.‭ ‬But‭ ‬I‭ ‬suppose‭ ‬that‭ ‬is‭ ‬why‭ ‬people‭ ‬have‭ ‬rejected‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬for‭ ‬conscience‭ ‬sake.‭ ‬But‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬information‭ ‬provided,‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬time‭ ‬for‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬to‭ ‬examine‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬in‭ ‬a‭ ‬logical‭ ‬way‭ ‬and‭ ‬not‭ ‬follow‭ ‬conspiracy‭ ‬theories,‭ ‬which‭ ‬is‭ ‬usually‭ ‬the‭ ‬practice‭ ‬of‭ ‬cults.‭ ‬Modern‭ ‬biblical‭ ‬criticism,‭ ‬more‭ ‬than‭ ‬anything‭ ‬else,‭ ‬has‭ ‬weakened‭ ‬and‭ ‬almost‭ ‬destroyed‭ ‬the‭ ‬high‭ ‬view‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬previously‭ ‬held‭ ‬throughout‭ ‬Christendom.‭”

Here‭ ‬is‭ ‬when‭ ‬we‭ ‬finally‭ ‬find‭ ‬out‭ ‬why‭ ‬Sayers‭ ‬gave‭ ‬the‭ ‬double‭ ‬talk‭ ‬a‭ ‬few‭ ‬paragraphs‭ ‬up‭ ‬when‭ ‬he‭ ‬said‭ ‬the‭ ‬following‭ ‬concerning‭ ‬the‭ ‬usage‭ ‬of‭ ‬passover‭ ‬in‭ ‬1‭ ‬Cor.‭ ‬5:7:‭

“Because‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬translators‭ ‬rendered‭ ‬this‭ ‬word‭ ‬once,‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4,‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬understanding‭ ‬that‭ ‬it‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬Christian‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬being‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬and‭ ‬not‭ ‬just‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬it‭ ‬stands‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬the‭ ‬most‭ ‬accurate‭ ‬of‭ ‬all‭ ‬the‭ ‬English‭ ‬translations‭ ‬concerning‭ ‬this‭ ‬topic…Tyndale‭ ‬was‭ ‬correct‭ ‬to‭ ‬translate‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬lamb‭ ‬and‭ ‬not‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬because‭ ‬the‭ ‬terms‭ ‬were‭ ‬not‭ ‬clearly‭ ‬defined‭ ‬until‭ ‬1611.‭”

He‭ ‬claims‭ ‬both‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bibles‭ ‬are‭ ‬right,‭ ‬yet‭ ‬both‭ ‬are‭ ‬different.‭ ‬Every‭ ‬word‭ ‬of‭ ‬God‭ ‬is‭ ‬pure.‭ ‬You‭ ‬cannot‭ ‬rightly‭ ‬switch‭ ‬words‭ ‬out‭ ‬and‭ ‬say‭ ‬they‭ ‬are‭ ‬the‭ ‬same,‭ ‬or‭ ‬that‭ ‬both‭ ‬renderings‭ ‬are‭ ‬correct.‭

Pro‭_‬30:5‭ ‬Every‭ ‬word‭ ‬of‭ ‬God‭ ‬is‭ ‬pure:‭ ‬he‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬shield‭ ‬unto‭ ‬them‭ ‬that‭ ‬put‭ ‬their‭ ‬trust‭ ‬in‭ ‬him.

His‭ ‬whole‭ ‬point‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬above‭ ‬paragraph‭ ‬is‭ ‬an‭ ‬attack‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬absolute‭ ‬truth‭ ‬found‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬KJB.‭ ‬He‭ ‬believes‭ ‬further‭ ‬truth‭ ‬and‭ ‬authority‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬in‭ ‬other‭ ‬Bibles.‭ ‬He‭ ‬claims‭ ‬the‭ ‬inerrancy‭ ‬in‭ ‬men‭ ‬like‭ ‬Tyndale‭ ‬and‭ ‬Luther‭ ‬as‭ ‬a‭ ‬means‭ ‬to‭ ‬prove‭ ‬his‭ ‬unbiblical‭ ‬viewpoint.‭ ‬Stooping‭ ‬to‭ ‬such‭ ‬a‭ ‬level‭ ‬simply‭ ‬proves‭ ‬one‭’‬s‭ ‬own‭ ‬error.‭

Here‭ ‬is‭ ‬another‭ ‬paragraph:

‭“‬The‭ ‬modern‭ ‬KJV‭ ‬21st‭ ‬century‭ ‬version‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬Third‭ ‬Millennium‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬both‭ ‬read‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:4,‭ ‬while‭ ‬every‭ ‬other‭ ‬modern‭ ‬translation‭ ‬has‭ ‬Passover.‭ ‬While‭ ‬it‭ ‬was‭ ‬correct‭ ‬to‭ ‬translate‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬as‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬16th‭ ‬century,‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬factual‭ ‬to‭ ‬state‭ ‬that‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬an‭ ‬erroneous‭ ‬translation‭ ‬of‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬today.‭ ‬I‭ ‬believe‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬should‭ ‬be‭ ‬resurrected‭ (‬no‭ ‬pun‭ ‬intended‭) ‬from‭ ‬its‭ ‬current‭ ‬state‭ ‬in‭ ‬modern‭ ‬translations,‭ ‬dictionaries,‭ ‬and‭ ‬in‭ ‬our‭ ‬personal‭ ‬worship.‭ ‬The‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬should‭ ‬be‭ ‬a‭ ‬time‭ ‬of‭ ‬jubilation,‭ ‬not‭ ‬a‭ ‬time‭ ‬to‭ ‬talk‭ ‬about‭ ‬myths,‭ ‬fables‭ ‬and‭ ‬old‭ ‬wives‭’ ‬tales.‭ ‬Just‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jews‭ ‬remembered‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover,‭ ‬so‭ ‬too‭ ‬should‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬remember‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬at‭ ‬communion.‭ ‬So‭ ‬next‭ ‬time‭ ‬you‭ ‬break‭ ‬the‭ ‬bread‭ ‬and‭ ‬drink‭ ‬the‭ ‬wine‭ ‬at‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬consider‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬lamb,‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬which‭ ‬has‭ ‬been‭ ‬a‭ ‬part‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christianity‭ ‬since‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christ.‭”
The‭ ‬complete‭ ‬article‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬here:‭ ‬http://Easterau.com/

Again,‭ ‬we‭ ‬find‭ ‬double‭ ‬talk,‭ ‬and‭ ‬contradictory‭ ‬statements.‭ ‬He‭ ‬says‭ ‬both‭ ‬renderings‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ ‬Pascha,‭ ‬as‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬or‭ ‬passover‭ ‬are‭ ‬correct‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts.‭ ‬12:4.‭ ‬Such‭ ‬an‭ ‬idea‭ ‬is‭ ‬unbiblical.‭

He,‭ ‬again‭ ‬confuses‭ ‬the‭ ‬timing‭ ‬difference‭ ‬between‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬The‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬was‭ ‬3‭ ‬days‭ ‬after.‭ ‬He‭ ‬also‭ ‬confuses‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper‭ ‬was‭ ‬an‭ ‬ordinance‭ ‬established‭ ‬by‭ ‬God‭ ‬for‭ ‬the‭ ‬church‭ ‬to‭ ‬remember‭ ‬the‭ ‬death‭ ‬of‭ ‬their‭ ‬Saviour.‭ ‬It‭ ‬was‭ ‬not‭ ‬a‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬held‭ ‬every‭ ‬year‭ ‬on‭ ‬different‭ ‬dates.‭ ‬Here‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬passage‭ ‬below.‭

I‭ ‬am‭ ‬going‭ ‬to‭ ‬give‭ ‬a‭ ‬few‭ ‬more‭ ‬quotes‭ ‬and‭ ‬point‭ ‬out‭ ‬the‭ ‬foundational‭ ‬flaw‭ ‬in‭ ‬this‭ ‬viewpoint.‭

“The‭ ‬early‭ ‬church‭ ‬never‭ ‬debated‭ ‬whether‭ ‬or‭ ‬not‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬but‭ ‬only‭ ‬debated‭ ‬the‭ ‬day‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬it‭ ‬on.‭ ‬The‭ ‬King‭ ‬James‭ ‬translators‭ ‬concluded‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬insertion‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬words‭ ‬in‭ ‬Acts‭ ‬12:3‭ “‬Then‭ ‬were‭ ‬the‭ ‬days‭ ‬of‭ ‬unleavened‭ ‬bread‭” ‬just‭ ‬before‭ ‬the‭ ‬inclusion‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬word‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬was‭ ‬enough‭ ‬evidence‭ ‬to‭ ‬prove‭ ‬that‭ ‬Luke‭ ‬was‭ ‬talking‭ ‬about‭ ‬the‭ ‬Christian‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬i.e.‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬the‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection.‭”

This‭ ‬is‭ ‬based‭ ‬on‭ ‬historical‭ ‬accounts‭ ‬and‭ ‬hold‭ ‬no‭ ‬authority‭ ‬when‭ ‬it‭ ‬comes‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬truth.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬was‭ ‬against‭ ‬observing‭ ‬any‭ ‬type‭ ‬of‭ ‬holidays.‭ ‬And‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬never‭ ‬refers‭ ‬to‭ ‬anything‭ ‬as‭ ‬a‭ ‬christian‭ ‬Pascha.‭

“It‭ ‬must‭ ‬be‭ ‬remembered‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬most‭ ‬important‭ ‬feast‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jews.‭ ‬The‭ ‬early‭ ‬Church,‭ ‬including‭ ‬Luke,‭ ‬would‭ ‬have‭ ‬initiated‭ ‬the‭ ‬trend‭ ‬of‭ ‬not‭ ‬celebrating‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬shadow‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬but‭ ‬celebrating‭ ‬the‭ ‬new‭ ‬Pascha.‭”

There‭ ‬is‭ ‬no‭ ‬old‭ ‬and‭ ‬new‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬or‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬fulfilled‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover‭ ‬with‭ ‬his‭ ‬death.‭ ‬He‭ ‬also‭ ‬commanded‭ ‬us‭ ‬to‭ ‬observe‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper‭ ‬as‭ ‬oft‭ ‬as‭ ‬we‭ ‬will,‭ ‬commemorating‭ ‬his‭ ‬death.‭

This‭ ‬is‭ ‬from‭ ‬a‭ ‬second‭ ‬article‭ ‬by‭ ‬Sayers:

‭“‬It‭ ‬would‭ ‬be‭ ‬so‭ ‬much‭ ‬more‭ ‬edifying‭ ‬for‭ ‬the‭ ‬church‭ ‬to‭ ‬learn‭ ‬of‭ ‬subjects‭ ‬such‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬Passover‭ ‬Lamb‭ ‬fulfilled‭ ‬in‭ ‬Christ,‭ ‬or‭ ‬the‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬69‭ ‬weeks‭ ‬of‭ ‬Daniel‭’‬s‭ ‬prophecy‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬10th‭ ‬of‭ ‬Nisan,‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper,‭ ‬the‭ ‬blood,‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬etc,‭ ‬which‭ ‬no‭ ‬doubt‭ ‬many‭ ‬have‭ ‬been‭ ‬doing,‭ ‬however‭ ‬should‭ ‬do‭ ‬so‭ ‬with‭ ‬even‭ ‬more‭ ‬boldness,‭ ‬proclaiming‭ ‬them‭ ‬without‭ ‬unnecessary‭ ‬doubting‭ ‬or‭ ‬confusion.‭ ‬History‭ ‬reveals‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬majority‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬worldwide‭ ‬have‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬because‭ ‬Jesus‭ (‬not‭ ‬Pagans‭) ‬said:
Do‭ ‬this‭ ‬in‭ ‬remembrance‭ ‬of‭ ‬Me‭ ‬cf.‭ ‬Luke‭ ‬22:19‭ ‬with‭ ‬1‭ ‬Corinthians‭ ‬11:24.‭”
http://textus-receptus.com/wiki/Article:‭_‬Why‭_‬We‭_‬Should‭_‬Not‭_‬Passover‭_‬Easter‭_‬%28Part‭_‬2%29‭_‬by‭_‬Nick‭_‬Sayers

The‭ ‬fact‭ ‬that‭ ‬Catholics‭ ‬make‭ ‬up‭ ‬the‭ ‬majority‭ ‬of‭ “‬christians‭” ‬seems‭ ‬to‭ ‬have‭ ‬been‭ ‬a‭ ‬point‭ ‬missed‭ ‬by‭ ‬this‭ ‬author.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬never‭ ‬calls‭ ‬us‭ ‬to‭ ‬follow‭ ‬the‭ ‬deeds‭ ‬of‭ “‬the‭ ‬majority.‭” ‬We‭ ‬are‭ ‬to‭ ‬follow‭ ‬the‭ ‬doctrines‭ ‬found‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬holy‭ ‬scriptures.‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬one‭ ‬of‭ ‬them.‭

And‭ ‬once‭ ‬again‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬never‭ ‬initiated‭ ‬the‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬Look‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬2‭ ‬passages‭ ‬used‭ ‬to‭ ‬give‭ ‬credence‭ ‬to‭ ‬this‭ ‬foolish‭ ‬idea.‭

Luk‭ ‬22:19‭ ‬And‭ ‬he‭ ‬took‭ ‬bread,‭ ‬and‭ ‬gave‭ ‬thanks,‭ ‬and‭ ‬brake‭ ‬it,‭ ‬and‭ ‬gave‭ ‬unto‭ ‬them,‭ ‬saying,‭ ‬This‭ ‬is‭ ‬my‭ ‬body‭ ‬which‭ ‬is‭ ‬given‭ ‬for‭ ‬you:‭ ‬this‭ ‬do‭ ‬in‭ ‬remembrance‭ ‬of‭ ‬me.

Both‭ ‬of‭ ‬those‭ ‬passages‭ ‬are‭ ‬speaking‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper.‭ ‬It‭ ‬has‭ ‬absolutely‭ ‬nothing‭ ‬to‭ ‬do‭ ‬with‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬clearly‭ ‬teaches‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬purpose‭ ‬of‭ ‬this‭ ‬is‭ ‬for‭ ‬us‭ ‬to‭ ‬remember‭ ‬the‭ ‬broken‭ ‬body‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬shed‭ ‬blood‭ ‬of‭ ‬Christ.‭ ‬It‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬time‭ ‬of‭ ‬examination‭ ‬vs‭ ‬28‭ ‬teaches.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬never‭ ‬commands‭ ‬christians‭ ‬to‭ ‬observe‭ ‬any‭ ‬holidays.‭ ‬The‭ ‬NT‭ ‬is‭ ‬against‭ ‬such‭ ‬things.‭

Ok,‭ ‬all‭ ‬those‭ ‬quotes‭ ‬were‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬source‭ ‬and‭ ‬now‭ ‬we‭ ‬are‭ ‬moving‭ ‬on‭ ‬to‭ ‬another‭ ‬article‭ ‬written‭ ‬by‭ ‬a‭ ‬man‭ ‬named‭ ‬Scott‭ ‬Jones.‭

“There‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬pre-resurrection‭ ‬pascha,‭ ‬and‭ ‬there‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬post-resurrection‭ ‬pascha.‭ ‬The‭ ‬difference‭ ‬is‭ ‬night‭ ‬and‭ ‬day,‭ ‬and‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬very‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬of‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬himself‭ ‬that‭ ‬forces‭ ‬both‭ ‬the‭ ‬schism‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬distinction,‭ ‬that‭ ‬divides‭ ‬the‭ ‬New‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬pascha‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬pascha,‭ ‬just‭ ‬as‭ ‬he‭ ‬divided‭ ‬the‭ ‬light‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬darkness‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬very‭ ‬beginning.‭ ‬The‭ ‬fact‭ ‬that‭ ‬this‭ ‬simple‭ ‬truth‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬understood‭ ‬by‭ ‬the‭ ‬critics‭ ‬only‭ ‬serves‭ ‬to‭ ‬demonstrate‭ ‬yet‭ ‬again‭ ‬the‭ ‬rampant‭ ‬unregeneracy‭ ‬that‭ ‬permeates‭ ‬mainstream‭ ‬Christianity,‭ ‬for‭ ‬the‭ ‬method‭ ‬of‭ ‬employment‭ ‬of‭ ‬this‭ ‬word‭ ‬in‭ ‬a‭ ‬pre-‭ ‬or‭ ‬post-resurrection‭ ‬context‭ ‬is‭ ‬utterly‭ ‬paramount.‭ ‬Utterly.‭”
http://textus-receptus.com/wiki/Article:‭_‬Easter‭_‬or‭_‬Passover‭_‬by‭_‬Scott‭_‬Jones

This‭ ‬is‭ ‬sheer‭ ‬foolishness.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬never‭ ‬speaks‭ ‬of‭ ‬a‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬and‭ ‬a‭ ‬New‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬Pascha.‭ ‬Pascha‭ ‬is‭ ‬Pascha.‭ ‬According‭ ‬to‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬is‭ ‬our‭ ‬passover.‭ (‬1Cor.‭ ‬5:7‭) ‬He‭ ‬was‭ ‬sacrificed‭ ‬for‭ ‬our‭ ‬sins.‭ ‬Praise‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord.‭ ‬He‭ ‬fulfilled‭ ‬this‭ ‬day.‭ ‬There,‭ ‬however,‭ ‬is‭ ‬no‭ ‬such‭ ‬thing‭ ‬as‭ ‬2‭ ‬separate‭ ‬Pascha.‭ ‬The‭ ‬one‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬fulfilled‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬same‭ ‬one.‭ ‬And‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬supper‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬commemoration‭ ‬of‭ ‬this‭ ‬event,‭ ‬Christ‭’‬s‭ ‬death.

Joh‭_‬4:23‭ ‬But‭ ‬the‭ ‬hour‭ ‬cometh,‭ ‬and‭ ‬now‭ ‬is,‭ ‬when‭ ‬the‭ ‬true‭ ‬worshippers‭ ‬shall‭ ‬worship‭ ‬the‭ ‬Father‭ ‬in‭ ‬spirit‭ ‬and‭ ‬in‭ ‬truth:‭ ‬for‭ ‬the‭ ‬Father‭ ‬seeketh‭ ‬such‭ ‬to‭ ‬worship‭ ‬him.
Joh‭_‬4:24‭ ‬God‭ ‬is‭ ‬a‭ ‬Spirit:‭ ‬and‭ ‬they‭ ‬that‭ ‬worship‭ ‬him‭ ‬must‭ ‬worship‭ ‬him‭ ‬in‭ ‬spirit‭ ‬and‭ ‬in‭ ‬truth.

Php‭_‬3:3‭ ‬For‭ ‬we‭ ‬are‭ ‬the‭ ‬circumcision,‭ ‬which‭ ‬worship‭ ‬God‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬spirit,‭ ‬and‭ ‬rejoice‭ ‬in‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬Jesus,‭ ‬and‭ ‬have‭ ‬no‭ ‬confidence‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬flesh.

We‭ ‬do‭ ‬not‭ ‬worship‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬observance‭ ‬of‭ ‬days.‭ ‬We‭ ‬worship‭ ‬him‭ ‬in‭ ‬spirit.‭ ‬God‭ ‬never‭ ‬commanded‭ ‬us‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover‭ ‬or‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬Such‭ ‬observances‭ ‬are‭ ‬not‭ ‬founded‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible.‭

Here‭ ‬is‭ ‬another‭ ‬quote:

‭“‬Alfred‭ ‬Edersheim,‭ ‬a‭ ‬Jew‭ ‬who‭ ‬converted‭ ‬to‭ ‬Christianity‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬19th‭ ‬century,‭ ‬and‭ ‬a‭ ‬master‭ ‬in‭ ‬Rabbinic‭ ‬scholarship,‭ ‬stated‭ ‬it‭ ‬this‭ ‬way‭ ‬when‭ ‬describing‭ ‬the‭ ‬fellowship‭ ‬of‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬with‭ ‬his‭ ‬disciples‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬Last‭ ‬Supper‭ ‬–

‭‘‬It‭ ‬was‭ ‬to‭ ‬be‭ ‬the‭ ‬last‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬old‭ ‬paschas‭; ‬the‭ ‬first,‭ ‬or‭ ‬rather‭ ‬the‭ ‬symbol‭ ‬of‭ ‬promise,‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬new.‭’”
http://textus-receptus.com/wiki/Article:‭_‬Easter‭_‬or‭_‬Passover‭_‬by‭_‬Scott‭_‬Jones

This‭ ‬is‭ ‬confusion‭ ‬and‭ ‬has‭ ‬no‭ ‬basis‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬holy‭ ‬scripture.‭ ‬No‭ ‬where‭ ‬does‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬mention‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭ ‬Pascha.‭ (‬passover‭) ‬What‭ ‬he‭ ‬is‭ ‬calling‭ ‬the‭ “‬promise,‭ ‬of‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭” ‬is‭ ‬what‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬would‭ ‬call‭ ‬a‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬old.‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬died‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover,‭ ‬not‭ ‬to‭ ‬start‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭ ‬tradition,‭ ‬but‭ ‬to‭ ‬fulfill‭ ‬the‭ ‬old.‭ ‬He‭ ‬died‭ ‬for‭ ‬our‭ ‬sins‭ ‬just‭ ‬as‭ ‬the‭ ‬lambs‭ ‬were‭ ‬sacrificed‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover‭ ‬to‭ ‬cover‭ ‬sins.‭ ‬He‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬begin‭ ‬a‭ ‬new‭ ‬passover,‭ ‬he‭ ‬completed‭ ‬the‭ ‬only‭ ‬passover.‭

Here‭ ‬are‭ ‬a‭ ‬few‭ ‬more‭ ‬quotes:

‭“‬The‭ ‬day‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬rose‭ ‬from‭ ‬the‭ ‬dead,‭ ‬the‭ ‬Apostles‭ ‬ceased‭ ‬celebrating‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jewish‭ ‬pascha,‭ ‬which‭ ‬was‭ ‬only‭ ‬a‭ ‬type,‭ ‬and‭ ‬instead‭ ‬began‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬the‭ ‬Christian‭ ‬pascha,‭ ‬which‭ ‬was‭ ‬the‭ ‬fulfillment.‭ ‬That‭’‬s‭ ‬why‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬to‭ ‬this‭ ‬very‭ ‬day‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬the‭ ‬RESURRECTION‭ ‬OF‭ ‬JESUS‭ ‬CHRIST,‭ ‬and‭ ‬that‭’‬s‭ ‬why‭ ‬it‭’‬s‭ ‬called‭ ‬Easter,‭ ‬for‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬means‭ ‬-‭ ‬and‭ ‬has‭ ‬always‭ ‬meant‭ ‬-‭ ‬RESURRECTION.‭”
http://textus-receptus.com/wiki/Article:‭_‬Easter‭_‬or‭_‬Passover‭_‬by‭_‬Scott‭_‬Jones

Here‭ ‬this‭ ‬author‭ ‬recognizes‭ ‬the‭ ‬truth‭ ‬of‭ ‬what‭ ‬I‭ ‬just‭ ‬stated‭ ‬above.‭ ‬But‭ ‬he‭ ‬completely‭ ‬misses‭ ‬the‭ ‬truth‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬matter.‭ ‬Jesus‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬fulfill‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover‭ ‬to‭ ‬begin‭ ‬another‭ ‬traditional‭ ‬feast‭ ‬day,‭ ‬He‭ ‬died‭ ‬to‭ ‬save‭ ‬souls.‭ ‬And‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬was‭ ‬after‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬So,‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬cannot‭ ‬be‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬That‭ ‬would‭ ‬be‭ ‬when‭ ‬Christ‭ ‬died.‭ ‬The‭ ‬whole‭ ‬things‭ ‬makes‭ ‬no‭ ‬sense.‭

If‭ ‬the‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬was‭ ‬truly‭ ‬a‭ ‬biblical‭ ‬concept‭ ‬then‭ ‬why‭ ‬is‭ ‬it‭ ‬done‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬most‭ ‬unbiblical‭ ‬way.‭ ‬Why‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬date‭ ‬different‭ ‬every‭ ‬year‭? ‬Why‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬date‭ ‬based‭ ‬on‭ ‬the‭ ‬unbiblical‭ ‬usage‭ ‬of‭ ‬astrology‭? ‬And‭ ‬if‭ ‬we‭ ‬are‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬and‭ ‬observe‭ ‬this‭ ‬day‭ ‬why‭ ‬does‭ ‬the‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬say‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬weak‭ ‬and‭ ‬beggarly‭ ‬to‭ ‬do‭ ‬such‭?

One‭ ‬final‭ ‬quote:

‭“‬In‭ ‬summary,‭ ‬the‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬was‭ ‬PURELY‭ ‬Christian,‭ ‬a‭ ‬SINGULAR‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬RESURRECTION‭ ‬OF‭ ‬JESUS‭ ‬CHRIST‭ ‬in‭ ‬fulfillment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬Old‭ ‬Testament‭ ‬prophecies‭ ‬and‭ ‬types,‭ ‬instituted‭ ‬BY‭ ‬THE‭ ‬APOSTLES,‭ ‬and‭ ‬any‭ ‬assertion‭ ‬claiming‭ ‬that‭ ‬born‭ ‬again‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬adapted‭ ‬the‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬-‭ ‬that‭ ‬is,‭ ‬the‭ ‬RESURRECTION‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬-‭ ‬to‭ ‬a‭ ‬pagan‭ ‬festival‭ ‬is‭ ‬condemned‭ ‬on‭ ‬its‭ ‬own‭ ‬face‭ ‬by‭ ‬both‭ ‬the‭ ‬Word‭ ‬of‭ ‬God‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬Holy‭ ‬Ghost‭ ‬also‭ ‬bearing‭ ‬witness.‭”
http://textus-receptus.com/wiki/Article:‭_‬Easter‭_‬or‭_‬Passover‭_‬by‭_‬Scott‭_‬Jones

I‭ ‬suppose‭ ‬in‭ ‬such‭ ‬an‭ ‬erroneous‭ ‬article‭ ‬as‭ ‬this‭ ‬one,‭ ‬one‭ ‬must‭ ‬end‭ ‬it‭ ‬with‭ ‬the‭ ‬idea‭ ‬that‭ ‬the‭ ‬case‭ ‬was‭ ‬proven‭ ‬beyond‭ ‬a‭ ‬doubt.‭ ‬Here‭ ‬are‭ ‬the‭ ‬facts.‭ ‬The‭ ‬Bible‭ ‬did‭ ‬not‭ ‬institute‭ ‬the‭ ‬celebration‭ ‬of‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬pagan,‭ ‬this‭ ‬is‭ ‬seen‭ ‬in‭ ‬the‭ ‬way‭ ‬it‭ ‬is‭ ‬celebrated‭ ‬around‭ ‬the‭ ‬world.‭ ‬The‭ ‬bunnies,‭ ‬the‭ ‬eggs,‭ ‬the‭ ‬sunrise‭ ‬service,‭ ‬none‭ ‬of‭ ‬that‭ ‬can‭ ‬be‭ ‬found‭ ‬in‭ ‬God‭’‬s‭ ‬word.‭ ‬Well..actually‭…‬you‭ ‬can‭ ‬find‭ ‬a‭ ‬sunrise‭ ‬service…here:

Eze‭_‬8:16‭ ‬And‭ ‬he‭ ‬brought‭ ‬me‭ ‬into‭ ‬the‭ ‬inner‭ ‬court‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬LORD‭’‬S‭ ‬house,‭ ‬and,‭ ‬behold,‭ ‬at‭ ‬the‭ ‬door‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬temple‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬LORD,‭ ‬between‭ ‬the‭ ‬porch‭ ‬and‭ ‬the‭ ‬altar,‭ ‬were‭ ‬about‭ ‬five‭ ‬and‭ ‬twenty‭ ‬men,‭ ‬with‭ ‬their‭ ‬backs‭ ‬toward‭ ‬the‭ ‬temple‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬LORD,‭ ‬and‭ ‬their‭ ‬faces‭ ‬toward‭ ‬the‭ ‬east‭; ‬and‭ ‬they‭ ‬worshipped‭ ‬the‭ ‬sun‭ ‬toward‭ ‬the‭ ‬east.

As‭ ‬you‭ ‬can‭ ‬see‭ ‬this‭ ‬is‭ ‬not‭ ‬a‭ ‬service‭ ‬a‭ ‬christian‭ ‬should‭ ‬take‭ ‬part‭ ‬in.‭

Ok,‭ ‬that‭ ‬pretty‭ ‬much‭ ‬sums‭ ‬up‭ ‬the‭ ‬false‭ ‬idea‭ ‬that‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬christian.‭ ‬Now‭ ‬I‭ ‬am‭ ‬going‭ ‬to‭ ‬sum‭ ‬up‭ ‬their‭ ‬position.‭ ‬They‭ ‬believe‭ ‬that‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬fulfilment‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬They‭ ‬further‭ ‬contend‭ ‬that‭ ‬christians‭ ‬are‭ ‬taught‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬Easter‭ ‬much‭ ‬like‭ ‬how‭ ‬the‭ ‬Jews‭ ‬observed‭ ‬the‭ ‬passover.‭ ‬in‭ ‬a‭ ‬nutshell‭ ‬that‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬position‭ ‬taken‭ ‬by‭ ‬the‭ ‬authors‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬articles‭ ‬quoted.‭ ‬The‭ ‬problem‭ ‬with‭ ‬their‭ ‬positions‭ ‬is‭ ‬the‭ ‬false‭ ‬data‭ ‬used‭ ‬to‭ ‬prove‭ ‬it.‭ ‬Christians‭ ‬are‭ ‬never‭ ‬once‭ ‬taught‭ ‬to‭ ‬observe‭ ‬the‭ ‬holiday‭ ‬called‭ ‬Easter.‭ ‬They‭ ‬are‭ ‬never‭ ‬told‭ ‬to‭ ‬celebrate‭ ‬the‭ ‬resurrection‭ ‬day‭ ‬either.‭ ‬The‭ ‬only‭ ‬thing‭ ‬they‭ ‬are‭ ‬told‭ ‬to‭ ‬commemorate‭ ‬is‭ ‬Christ‭’‬s‭ ‬death.‭ ‬This‭ ‬is‭ ‬done‭ ‬through‭ ‬the‭ ‬Lord‭’‬s‭ ‬su

Birthdays and the Bible

Birthdays, Satanism, and the Bible

The Biblical calendar and how it would not allow the keeping of birthdays.

The Bible teaches in the book of 1Thes. 5:21 that christians are to prove, that is try or check, all things. Not just a few things. Not just the things that make us feel funny. Not just the things we like or dislike. All things; all things must be proven. And this is not a suggestion, it is a command. This article is written to prove that the observance of birthdays is not found in the Bible and is part of the way of the heathen that is condemned in scripture. (Jer. 10:2-4)

Rom 12:1    I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Rom 12:2    And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Pre-Tribulation Rapture

Pre-tribulation rapture information

In this day and age there is much confusion over what the rapture is and when it occurs. I believe that a lot of the diversity concerning this issue comes from books, and people placing too much faith in the way fallible man interprets the scripture and not enough faith in the Bible itself. I have seen many debates over the timing of the rapture, and the determining factor for many people’s beliefs never fails to come down to whether one’s position can be found to be taught throughout church history or not.

1Co_2:13  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

The scripture clearly forbids the reliance on man for doctrine. A christian ought to rely on the Bible itself to learn the truth and mysteries of God. The Holy Ghost and the scripture work together in an effort to reveal doctrine unto us. There is nothing wrong with books, or historical evidences, but the Bible is to be supreme when it comes to what we believe. When a book or sermon differs from the holy scriptures then those are in error and not God’s word. In this article I will supply proof from God’s word of a pre-tribulation rapture.

I could not post the whole article here because of charts and parallels within the document. The article can be viewed here:

Easter and the Bible

Easter and the Bible

Easter: is it a wonderful holiday to celebrate Christ’s resurrection? It may seem that way to some, but in reality the name and most aspects of it are remnants from the pagan holiday they were derived from. When the Bible says “prove all things; hold fast that which is good” it is not a joke. (1Thes. 5:21) God seriously desires for us to live holy lives, separate from the dark world. “Well I don’t think…” You don’t think what? You don’t think God wants us to separate from the world? Look, I am not trying to be mean in any way. I’m not trying to push anyone one away. I’m not trying to take away anyone’s fun. I simply desire to see God’s people worship him acceptably. And God desires separation from the world so that must be taught.

2Co 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

He also desires for us to not conform to the world. He wants to see us transform for him.

Now, with that said I want to look at this holiday. It is not about the resurrection. It is about the worship of the queen of heaven. The information I will be giving can be found in the Encyclopedia Britannica and The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop. It can also be found on many different websites. However, before I give any outside evidence of Easter being pagan and not godly, I will first give a biblical reason to believe so.

The Bible is very clear when Jesus died. The Bible teaches that the Lord died on the passover. Look at the verses below.

Joh_19:14  And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Joh 19:31  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

The passover began the evening of Jesus death. According to the scripture, the passover is on the 14th day of the 1st month. (the name for it is Abib, but for us it would be between March and April) The resurrection was exactly 3 days and 3 nights later according to Matthew 12:40, 20:19, 27:63 and many other passages. The Bible says he rose again the 1st day of the week. (Mat. 28:1-2) There is no way anyone can dispute these facts. They come straight from God’s word. Here is the funny thing, the date of Easter changes every year. The Lord died and 3 days later rose again, these were specific dates, yet the date of Easter is moveable. Every years it is different. If I understand it correctly it is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. (spring equinox)

I have some pictures pasted below for anyone that does not know what an equinox or solstice is. Those are terms for when the sun hits the earth at different angles. It is these natural events that control our seasons.

When someone dies on a certain date, it is the same date every year. When someone asks when so-and-so died nobody has to figure out if the date is different for this year than it was last year. Every year it is the same. The date that Jesus resurrected is the same date every single year. It doesn’t change. Why then is the date for Easter moveable? It is because it is not based on the Bible. Easter is based on and rooted in something evil and dark.

Now the Bible teaches that the religions of the world are connected together. The book of Revelation shows that Mystery Babylon is the mother of every religion on earth. You see, there is one pure virgin bride, that is the church, and then there is religion. Every religion has connection back to Babylon.

Rev 17:5  And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Nothing these religions do is obvious. It is all mysterious. That is why they are based on symbols and rituals, and not the Bible. This is the reason why you can go anywhere in the world and find images of the same gods. Every religion worships the same gods. They all trace back to Babylon.

Gen 10:8    And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

Gen 10:9    He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

Gen 10:10    And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Nimrod was a hunter before the Lord, not for the Lord, but before him. The scriptures indicate that he was the first person to lift himself up as a god after the flood. He started the city Babel in Shinar. (Shinar is where the Babylonian gods were-Dan. 1:2) We all know what happened in Babel. The languages were confused because the world was trying to build a tower to the heavens. This all worked together to spread the religion founded in Babel (Babylon) to all the earth. This is why most gods and goddesses of every religion all look the same when given an image. This is why worship (sacrifices, immorality, priests, monks, nuns) is similar for all religions. Symbols (pentagrams, hexagrams, all seeing eyes, pyramid shapes) are also the same. There is the mystery holding them all together. They all come from MYSTERY BABYLON, that is what the Bible says. One day this will all come to an end praise the Lord, but for now we are to be separated from such things. They are abominations.

The word Easter is a name for the queen of heaven found in the Bible. Around the world this goddess is known as Ishtar, Eostre, Astarte. Another Bible name for this pagan deity is Ashtoreth. “I don’t think there is any connection.” The names make it pretty obvious. Easter certainly doesn’t come from Christ. You couldn’t get Easter out of any of the Lord’s names,  but the similarities between it and Astarte or Ishtar or Ashtoreth is clear. You don’t have to believe me. However the facts are there. This information is readily available. I already gave some resources above, but here is a quote from a pro paganism site.

“All the fun things about Easter are pagan. Bunnies are a leftover from the pagan festival of Eostre, a great northern goddess whose symbol was a rabbit or hare. Exchange of eggs is an ancient custom, celebrated by many cultures. Hot cross buns are very ancient too. In the Old Testament we see the Israelites baking sweet buns for an idol, and religious leaders trying to put a stop to it. The early church clergy also tried to put a stop to sacred cakes being baked at Easter. In the end, in the face of defiant cake-baking pagan women, they gave up and blessed the cake instead.”

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2010/apr/03/easter-pagan-symbolism

Even the pagans know that Easter comes from paganism. Above the author spoke about the hot cross buns of Easter and their connection to idolatry. Look at the Bible passage below.

Jer 7:17  Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Jer 7:18  The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Jer 7:19  Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

You see how the cakes were offered to the queen of heaven. That can be none other than Easter/Ishtar. Nowadays we eat the buns or cakes, but back they they were offered to idols.

1Jn_5:21  Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

1Th 5:22  Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Here is another quote; this one is from The Two Babylons:

“Then look at Easter. What means the term Easter itself? It is not a Christian name. It bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven, whose name, as pronounced by the people Nineveh, was evidently identical with that now in common use in this country. That name, as found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar. The worship of Bel and Astarte was very early introduced into Britain, along with the Druids, ‘the priests of the groves.’”

The Bible condemns the worship of Baal and Ashtoreth. The Bible also mentions and condemns the priests of the groves. All these things have to do with Easter.

1Ki_18:19  Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of *Baal* four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table.

2Ki_23:13  And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for *Ashtoreth* the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.

God is not in this day. Easter is an abomination. It is no not holy; it is unholy; it is unclean. The Bible says to “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.”

God never once commanded his disciples to commemorate his resurrection. Not one time. However, Christ did command them to commemorate his death as oft as we will till he come.

1Co 11:23  For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

1Co 11:24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

Now, the 1st day of the week seems to be when the early church gathered together. This is found in Acts 20:7 and 1Cor. 16:2 along with some other verses from scripture.  The first day of the week was also when Christ rose again. Therefore we understand that the assembling of the saints on this day was a way to honour the Lord’s resurrection weekly.

The Bible uses the word Easter one time. And it is not the church that observed this day, it was the pagan king Herod. This is all talked about in Acts 12:1-4. Some people say that the word Easter should be translated passover. The event in Acts 12, however, could not be the passover. Look below to see.

Act 12:1  Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

Act 12:2  And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Act 12:3  And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Act 12:4  And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Verse 3 says that this took place during the days of unleavened bread. According to the Bible in Leviticus 23:5-6 the days of unleavened bread were after the passover.

Lev 23:5  In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.

Lev 23:6  And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

The 14th day is the passover, and then the days of unleavened bread start the 15th day and last until the 21st day, that is 7 days. So in Acts 12 when the Herod took Peter the passover had already past.

Another claim some make is that the passover could include the whole week of unleavened bread and therefore it still could be passover. The problem with that is that Herod could care less about the passover. He was worried about Easter, a pagan celebration.

“But couldn’t this Easter refer to the resurrection?” I do not believe so. One argument for this theory is that Herod was waiting till after Easter (the resurrection day) to kill Peter, because he did not want him to rise from the dead like Jesus had. This has little basis, why would the Bible not give us a clue for this theory? I mean, it could have been said that Herod waited till after the 1st day of the week. But no, nothing that would indicate how long Herod had waited is given.

I think the reason the Bible never gives us information on these issue is so that we do not fall into the trap of pagan worship. The Bible is clear that the observance of days, months, times, and years is beggarly and week, they are worldly.  The idea that God desires us to observe his resurrection on a pagan feast day flies right in the face of clear Bible.

Gal 4:8  Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

Gal 4:9  But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Gal 4:10  Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Gal 4:11  I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

It is very clear that the Bible is against the celebration of heathen and pagan high days. We worship Christ in Spirit. (Php 3:3)

Ok now that we are through all that, let’s look at a few of the customs of Easter.

Probably the most well known custom is the Easter eggs. The origin, purpose, and symbolism of this is quite obvious. The egg has always and will always represent fertility. It is a symbol for new life. All celebrations surrounding the spring equinox have to do with new life, and fertility.

The rabbit, or hare is also an obvious symbol of new life and fertility. You don’t have to go very far in this world to realize the truth of this. There is no need to delve deep into these 2 symbols as it is not for believers to study paganism, but rather to mark and avoid it.

The 40 days of lent, the sunrise services, none of those come from the Bible. All those customs come from paganism. They ultimately come from MYSTERY BABYLON. They come from the mother of all harlots. We should have no part in this religion of harlots.

2Co 11:1  Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

2Co 11:2  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

2Co 11:3  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

2Co 11:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

God has given many commands to keep ourselves pure in the gospel of Christ. We need to shun other gospels and other spirits that do not speak the truth in Christ.

The Bible is clear that Jesus rose again on a specific day. It was the first day of the week. He died Thursday evening and rose again Sunday morning, 3 days later. God never gave us a date to celebrate these events. He only gave one command to commemorate his death. There is no scripture for anything more than this.

1Co_5:7  Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Christ is our passover. No where does the Bible call Christ our Easter. We christians need grace to give up these unholy days so that we may serve God acceptably. We need godly fear. The Bible is not accord with every man worshipping God in his own way. The way we ought to worship the Lord is shown us in the Bible.

Deu 12:30  Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

“I don’t think God cares how we worship him.” That is contrary to God’s word. Such thoughts fail to take into account Exodus 32:5, or Leviticus 10:1-2 along with many other passages from scripture. God does desires proper worship for himself with reverence.

Heb 12:28  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

Heb 12:29  For our God is a consuming fire.

The fact of the matter is this. Easter is a lie, the celebration is based on a lie. It is not about Jesus. Easter Sunday is not the date when Jesus rose again. And that alone disqualifies it from being a christian holiday. The Bible says “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) God must be worshipped in truth. A lie does not honour him. The devil is the father of lies. (John 8:44) Christians need to walk in truth. We need to be more like Job and fear God and eschew evil. (Job 1:8)

Pondering the Word

A few thoughts gained while pondering the word of God

Luk 2:19  But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

The shepherds were told good tidings, they were told about a Saviour being born. They heard the angels sing glory to God in the highest. These shepherds then went to see Jesus lying in a manger. Shepherds went to see the Lamb of God lying in a manger. Are these the things you ponder? What do you ponder? Do you ponder Jesus, the Son of the most high God, or do you ponder the next episode of such and such, or the next football or baseball game? What matters in your life? Do you ponder all the evil in the political world, or the Governor of the world? We need to dwell on the things of God.

Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Troubled:

Mat 2:2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Mat 2:3  When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

It’s interesting how Jerusalem is troubled at the coming of her own Messiah. I mean the news of Jesus’ birth should have been good news. They did not desire this King of the Jews because they were a rebellious house. The Bible says that Jerusalem was the one that killed the prophets of God.

Mat 23:37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Jerusalem knew their own sin, and perhaps this is what troubled them. Look at the Psalm below.

Psa 9:16  The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
Psa 9:17  The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

The Lord is known by his judgment. And the wicked shall be turned into hell. Think about it. If you knew that the Lord was a just judge, and you also knew that you were wicked, the coming of the Lord would trouble you too. What these people did not know is that the Lord came not into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:17)

What was not true for the first coming will be true to the second. When the Lord comes back it will be…

  1. A blessed hope to the saved. (Titus 2:13)

  1. Damnation to the unbelievers. (2Thes. 2:12)

The Lord came into the world the 1st time so that you do not have to be troubled about his second coming. Be a wise man and seek out the Lord while he can be found.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Isa_55:6  Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Matthew 21

Matthew chapter 21

Mat 21:12  And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

Jesus, the King, came and entered into Jerusalem on an ass, just as the prophets said he would. (Mat. 21:2-6) He came “meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.” That is what the Bible says. Yet the first thing Jesus does is go into the temple and cast out all them that sold and bought and he overthrew the money changers, and the seats of them that sold doves. This King at his meek state comes in and does all this.

We christians understand that this first coming the Lion of Judah came as the lamb of God. (John 1:29) The Jews thought he would come to destroy their enemies, but this lamb begins judgment in the house of the Lord. At the second coming as the Lord comes to earth he will slay all of Israel’s enemies swiftly.  We see here that even in such a meek context Jesus was harsh. Look at the passage quoted describing this event in context. Read More…

Italicized words in the Authorized Bible

Italicized words in the Authorized Bible

Can the italicized words in the KJB be removed? Do we need them? Perhaps you have heard they were added to God’s word and that you can remove them when you so desire. That is not true. God put them there for a reason. Look at the verses below to see why they are required.

1Jn 3:16  Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Nice verse, right? Let’s see what it looks like without the italicized words. I will place a * where the italicized words were.

1Jn 3:16  Hereby perceive we the love * *,  because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down * lives for the brethren. Read More…
